Long's Peak, The Keyhole

The keyhole is the pass to the north face. It's a bit like the approach to Half Dome, with dozens of people heading mostly in one direction. (The ones who started at 2am are already heading down...) It was a clear day, but it was cold, and the wind was howling. The photo of the bowl shows where we camped. The bowl is aptly named the Boulder Field. Each campsite consists of a small flat (semi...) area surrounded by a pile of rocks to help block the wind. Our advice to others...bring earplugs. The wind is relentless and noisy.
